Lotus Sutra Mantra Energised 108x

The Lotus Sutra Mantra is a central chant in Nichiren Buddhism, and it goes as follows:

“Nam Myoho Renge Kyo”

Pronounced as: Nah-mo Mee-yoh-ho Ren-gay Kyoh

Note. The ‘o’ in ‘mo’ transitions into the next word. You don’t fully pronounce the ‘o’.

This mantra is the fundamental mantra of Nichiren Buddhism, and it is also known as the “Daimoku.” It holds great significance in this Buddhist tradition and is believed to encapsulate the essence of the Lotus Sutra, one of the most important scriptures in Mahayana Buddhism.

The mantra’s meaning can be explained as follows:

  • Myoho: Refers to the Mystic Law or the ultimate truth or reality that underlies all phenomena.

  • Kyo: Signifies the sutra or the teachings. In this context, it specifically refers to the Lotus Sutra.

When chanted, “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo” is believed to help practitioners connect with the universal truth, attain enlightenment, and overcome the sufferings and challenges of life.
