Mewing Energy Field

Mewing is a technique popularised by Dr. John Mew, a British orthodontist, and his son Dr. Mike Mew.

It involves proper tongue posture to potentially improve facial structure, jawline definition, and breathing over time.

How Mewing Works:

  1. Tongue Posture – The tongue should rest against the roof of the mouth (not touching the teeth), with the entire tongue (including the back) pressed upward.
  2. Lips Closed, Teeth Lightly Together – The lips should be gently closed, and teeth should be slightly touching or close together.
  3. Nasal Breathing – Breathing should be through the nose, not the mouth, to promote proper facial development.

Claimed Benefits:

  • Sharper jawline
  • Better facial symmetry
  • Improved breathing (reducing mouth breathing)
  • Straighter teeth over time (if started young)

Mewing primarily involves several key parts of the face and oral cavity, all working together to promote proper tongue posture and facial development. Here’s a breakdown of the main areas involved:

1. Tongue

  • Entire Tongue (Front & Back):
    • The tip should rest just behind the front teeth (not pushing against them).
    • The middle and back portions press firmly against the hard palate (roof of the mouth).
  • Function: Maintains upward pressure to potentially widen the palate and support proper jaw alignment.

2. Hard & Soft Palate (Roof of the Mouth)

  • Hard Palate (Front): Supports the tongue’s upward pressure, which may help expand the maxilla (upper jaw) over time.
  • Soft Palate (Back, Near Throat): Engaged during proper swallowing and nasal breathing.

3. Jaw & Chin (Mandible)

  • Teeth: Should lightly touch or be slightly apart (no clenching).
  • Mandible (Lower Jaw): Proper tongue posture may encourage a more forward-grown jawline over time.
  • Hyoid Bone (Under Chin): Elevates slightly with correct tongue posture, contributing to a more defined jawline.

4. Lips & Mouth

  • Lips: Should remain gently closed (no mouth breathing).
  • Cheeks: Relaxed, not sucking in or puffing out.

5. Neck & Posture

  • Neck Muscles: Proper head posture (chin slightly tucked, not forward) supports mewing.
  • Hyoid Muscles: Strengthening these can improve swallowing and tongue posture.

Muscles Directly Affected:

  • Masseter (Jaw Muscle): May become more defined with proper chewing/swallowing.
  • Orbicularis Oris (Mouth Muscles): Stays relaxed, preventing strain.
  • Genioglossus (Tongue Muscle): Strengthens with consistent proper posture.

Why These Areas Matter:

  • Bone Remodelling (In Youth): Consistent pressure from the tongue may influence maxillary growth.
  • Soft Tissue Tone: Proper posture can reduce a “double chin” appearance over time.
  • Breathing & Swallowing: Prevents mouth breathing, which can negatively impact facial development.

This protocol works directly on the muscles of face that promotes the effect of mewing. It include three mini energy fields that work on the jaw, mouth and tongue muscles.

The advanced version is the complete energy field of the entire mewing process, plus the more potent versions of the mini energy fields that work on the three muscle types.

We recommend you use this protocol based on your energy capacity. You can use it 1 – 5 times per session. You can use this one more passively, after you give mental permission to the energy field to make changes to your face.

We highly recommend that you ‘mew’ along with the file playing. It will enhance the effects.
